A few finds from the colonial park...

It was nice day yesterday, and having worked all day Saturday, it felt good to get out. Used the 12.5" to see if I could eek out some deepies I missed the last time. Oddly enough, my first find wasn't a deepie at all. I was into some woods, well off a trail, when I got a shallow gold hit. What's great about this place is there's virtually no trash in these hard to get to area. I was just wondering, if it was a ring, how the heck did it get here? Well, I dug up this, about 3 or 4" down. No gold markings that I can see (have to find my loop) but I have no doubt it's gold. A little bit of a thing; size 4 :)

Here's the back:

Then I found another cool button. It was really deep; an iffy signal that started sounding better the closer I got to it. At first I thought it was "modern" because it was in such good condition. But after cleaning it I saw the back markings on it and looked it up. Can't find this particular name but there was another Imperial Standard that was in business up to 1820. Any ideas???

Here's the front:

The back looks great:

The last thing I found was this buckle... it's pretty small, only about 2" wide:

...the ring is gold! The buckle is neat...looks very old.

By the way....back when I had my pick-up I kept your CD playing all the time. Then one day it wouldn't play. I tried other CD's and they worked fine but JG & Friends just would not play. The other day I started driving the Blazer to work, air doesn't work and Carol needs the A/C, and put my collection of CD's in the car. Going through them I found your CD and figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. It worked! Really strange that it quit working and started again. I thought maybe it was dirty or maybe the heat got to it or something but even after cleaning it and trying it in my computer it was as if it had been erased. But it works fine now and I listen to it almost every day now.

I'm glad you have time to get out and dig, you've been posting some awesome finds this year!

Nice ring, and there were tons of flat colonial buttons. Nice digs buddy! :)
