A few recent finds - some so-so, one cool one!

The complete '56 quarter was from a few nights ago, the one I found when mentioned when I experimented with just opening up the top right corner. My first SE silver quarter. :) The '41 slice I found last night at the same spot, expermenting again with that setting but toggling it on and off with my normal wide open IM setting. The slice hit as low as 7-25 pretty solidly but sounded good. I like how it contains the complete date. I'm going to hit that general area a lot in hopes of finding the rest of it. The '56 was about 6" down and the '41 slice was a measured 7".

I loved this find once I looked it up and figured a few things out. This is the first Radio Orphan Annie Secret Decoder Badge released by Ovaltine in 1935. The really neat thing about it is that I'm pretty sure I know who's it was (though could have been a sibling or friend). I moved in this apartment 6 years ago and finally introduced myself a few years back to the neighbor who lived catywampus behind me who grew the most fantastic tomatoes I've ever seen. He was in his 70s and pretty obviously not in the best of health. (Heart condition.) Sadly, he passed away last yaer. But, in talking with him, I found out that he lived where the open playground is at this school when he was little. I wish he was alive still so I could give it back to him. (Looking up the prices on eBay, the funny thing is this is probably the most valuable thing I've found other than the gold and ruby ring I found last year.) This was a shallow find--at about 2 inches.

All the finds from the 2nd night except a couple of pull tabs.
