Went back to Doc Heiams house in town this morning. Still a bit soggy and the grass is high but managed a few goodies..

1923 merc...1909, 1956 & 1957 wheaties.....and an interesting medal or badge from 1925.

Don't forget to fly those colors this weekend !!!

Great job, McDave. Some goodies there -- quite a variety. Did a little research on that "medal;" apparently "Restaurationen" was a small ship -- and it carried the first "organized" group of Norwegian immigrants to America. It set sail July 5, 1825, from Norway, with 52 people aboard. Your medal commemorates the centennial of that departure...

Some real nice finds.... i love to find watch fobs and buttons. Those darn spark plug rings gets your hopes up when they first come out. I like digging various targets..... ya a few are junk but you get some real experience and history.

Thanks Steve....I got as far as finding them on Ebay before I had to start grilling up hot dogs, ribs on a stick and chicken drummies.

Sounds kind of like the Norweigan Mayflower to me...lol.

Dew...I am finding myself digging different targets also.

I am happy to say that being a guitar player for 28 years has helped me find more nickels. Almost all nickels are in the key of D on the bass side. I can sweep across a line of junk and pick that D note out just about every time.

looks like your a better cook than i am.... my saying is .... its not done until the smoke alarm goes off. Now if you can find out what note all that good jewelry hits you might have a new job.

Just goes to show that not all those good sounding targets are what we hope they might be, but at least you won't have to waste your time digging that crap up again when you go back to that spot.
