I got an invite today to go diggin with a friend. We met in the afternoon and struck out 3 times before we got a site. The first was not home, the second had standing corn, the third said not now try this spring, and the 4th said sure! :) This was an 1800's farm house. We hunted a little over two hours and here are my finds.

Some of the better finds include, a 1924 merc, 5 wheats, a 1940 Canadian cent, an old silver plated spoon, an unidentified eagle piece, 3 crotal bells, and an 1863 Civil War store card token.

1863 CW store card. An interesting note, the token I FOUND LAST WEEK WAS FOR STOVES AND HARDWARE SO IS THIS ONE!

I love finding these crotal bells. These date mid 1800's. I have never found 3 at one site, and two of these were in the same hole.

Here are some more things. Almost found the whole harmonica. There were even pieces of the wood that was between the reeds in the hole. A toe tap, a piece from the inside of a pocket watch, and the tube is neat. It was kinda brown with dirt and all rolled up. When I unrolled it I could read everything on it. It is an old Colgate tooth paste tube. It even has a metal hex swist off cap.

Here is the unidentified eagle piece. Notice the slot in the top. It is almost the size of a nickel. Sure was fun, and hot and humid! :)

Sure was a good one. The eagle item kinda looks like it was made for a fob strap. Good day digging for you, Steve in so az

looks like a button front. Just a tad smaller than a nickel.
