A John-Edmonton kind of day.

Bernie

New member
I was out in the woods yesterday deer hunting. It was 14 degrees F and snowing, a John-Edmonton kind of day. Deer weren't moving, saw nothing. I probably should have taken a detector instead of a deer rifle. :surrender:

....every time I go out lately. Fortunately, I haven't surprised any deer hunters.
I believe I'll restrict my detecting to urban sites until the season is over.

All the sites I've been hounding, though, are in areas that are close to town and not hunted, apparently. I'm buyin' a bow for next year.

If your out detecting in a deer hunting area make sure you wear your florescent colors.
Hate to see you bent over digging a target and getting pot shots aimed your way.
Recently lost an uncle cleaning his shotgun in the garage accidentally .

Sarah Palin 2012. You can't be serious.

I'm probably not serious.
The Sarah Palin crack is my way of thumbing my nose at the idiots who thought we needed to elect "change."

Well, let me refresh your memories. Take a look around at your nice detectors, and houses, and computers, and hot tubs, and 4-wheelers and umpteen choices you enjoy, for everything from cellphones to granola bars. These are the product of decades of not-changing what everyone was suckered into thinking we must change. Personally I don't see anyone offering me a better alternative, unless I sacrifice for the "common good" or paying for it outright... or both.

The crazy thing about Robin Hood? When he left the peasant with a few stolen coins - the peasant was still a peasant, and probably had to feed the merry men while they were around.

I've noticed our elected Change-ling elect is already starting to either back pedal or is poised to enact more government intervention in our lives.
Oh, boy.

So, the Sarah Palin thing is a jab at the aforementioned dimwits.
Besides. if we can elect a nobody, from somewhere, with no background or credentials who talks nice and promises what we want to hear..... well, if we can do that, we can elect Sarah Palin.

Right on David!! It is very scary to think that a guy who couldn't get a security clearance is now our President. I guess the old adage that you should be careful what you ask for is going to prove to be true here...

Never in doubt, Big John, never in doubt. :)

History will show that when we feel pinched and threatened, we run like sheep to the Progressive candidate. Our motto? "We're hurting, so take away our pain!"
We fail to realize that in asking another to control things for us, we pay a price.

There once was a charismatic well liked fellow, a chap who was the darling of the media. He promised change and to take down the "fat cats" on behalf of the little guy. He would be the one to redistribute the wealth and bring education, health care and balance to everyone.
In turn, everyone loved him for it and made sure he got in control so he could take care of them.

That fellow was Fidel Castro, of Cuba. And he kept his promises.
He brought an equal standard of living to everyone... equally poor. Health care is equally bad, and education is equally shoddy. Fortunately, he also made sure no one could oppose him in his Grand Vision by outlawing private gun ownership. Once his firing squads were done, there were few left to stand up and oppose him in bringing equality.

Today, Cuba is reduced to Third World Status. Until recent times, it was such a paragon of equality and justice that over a million Cubans preferred to risk their lives at sea trying to escape their homeland.

Like you say, Bernie: sometimes you gotta be careful what you ask for.

A lot of guys do, especially over on the Views Forum. She looked like a common broad to me. Didn't ring my bell. Not a bad looking lady but nothing to write home about.
