I had an awesome time! I first want to thank God for a safe trip there and back, great finds, and great fellowship! Now let me mention some of my finds. I will post pics next week. I got plenty of CW bullets, some arrow heads, some cannon ball fragments, and shell fragments. plenty of doo-dads too. But some of my better finds are 4 R.R. (Regiment of Riflemen) buttons (War of 1812) Also an insignia R.R. piece. I got an awesome 3rd artillery button (also war of 1812) I got a very cool 1700's colonial button, and a early 1700's ornate shoe buckle. I also got my first two silvers of the year! My best and one of my goal coins was an 1851 silver 3 cent piece! I also got a 1961 rosie at a construction site the day before the hunt. I will try to post pics next week!

Great finds, Mike!! Can't wait to see the pics. I'm glad you had a safe trip.

Wow! Speaking of CW. My brother got involved with the CW reenactment in Pennsylvania when he was living there. He's even got a book on armaments and all the different kinds of shells. He'll talk your head off about the stuff, but that's his hobby and I respect that.
I know a friend of mine who is an historian for the metal detecting club up in the Chicago area that found a cannon ball in the Schiller Park Forest Preserve. Nice finds though on your part. Glad you had a great time.
