A couple more of the interesting relics from the old homestead yesterday. The first looks like a tiny little egg cup (for a "little person" - sorry didn't mean to offend any midgets out there
) - it's solid, concave at the tip, tapered then flared out with a flat base with a hole in the dead center of the base (hole is approx. 3/8" deep)....copper or brass and has some heft.
The other item has a beautiful facetted red lens made of heavy glass - looking at it with a loupe the glass appears to be somewhat primitive, mounted in a bezel that is quite corroded - didn't dare try to clean it with a brass brush, and four little square mounting tabs protruding from the bezel. Could it have been a lens from a lantern of some sort?
