A mild damp Jan. starts early treasure hunt

Normally, January is not a pleasant time to hunt
in Charlottesville, VA. But this year has proven
to be the exception with rain every 3-5 days and
almost no nights below freezing. The most coins
collected were at the University of VA's track
around where the bleachers stood.
To My surprise, they had been torn down leaving
a lot of metal clips and bolts. Started checking
the surrounding area and found 61 coins which is
an excellent outing for Me. Hunt time was per My
average of 3 hours.
Note: picture below are for the 8 hunts in Jan.
Equipment:
2500GTI with 12.5" I coil and Bullseye 140
pinpointer
Cleaning coins:
Tumbler with vinegar 10% and ivory liquid soap-
penny 1-2 hours max.

My hunting is done using the jewelry mode,
using the standard notches. Setting the
sensitivity to 10 or greater depending on
the surface trash limbs and grass, which
can be 2-4 inches high.
