A neat relic

kickback

New member
I was cleaning out the van getting ready to go back to work.In my trash collection from my last detecting trip was the top part of an old key.I almost tossed it in the brass scrap bucket.I took it in side and washed it off.It says National Biscuit Company which later became Nabisco. It's from 1896 to somewhere in the early 1900's.It was used to take the top off biscuit tins.Being picture posting challenged I can't post a picture of it.Sorry.I found it just off main street in an old ghost town.It warmed up and the snow melted off today.I have a 6 day stretch at work then another 8 days off.I got to get in some more detecting.

That does sound like a cool relic. It's nice that you gave a little history of it and even a date. You really should put in the time to post pics of your finds. You probably have some great finds to post. If you need any help, just ask. There was a time when I couldn't post either, and hardly knew how to take photos. but, with lots of practice, it comes easy!

i love finding interesting bits & bobs that you can research & find info on i reckon it"s half the fun of detecting :detecting:
