A New Silver Honey Hole

I pulled a long over due silver out of this spot last week so I went back. Even though it was a silver Rosie. It was a 1946, which is early, so if there's one there's more where that came from. Two more silver is encouraging around here. This is the same place i pulled a silver 35 Washington quarter out, some time ago. The big difference now is, they installed new sprinklers. The soil is soft and you can dig a clean plug now. Really fun looking for deep coins under these conditions. This spots going to produce some great finds in the next 2-3 months before the snow flies. From top to bottom: Cheap girls hair beret, 1941 nickel, 1944 silver war nickel, 53, 44 wheats, and a nice 44 Merc. Go get you some.

Nice Finds. I love to see silver come out of the dirt. Congratulations.

That's one nice looking war nickel! Good score on the silver. Still waiting for my first war nickel. Hope more silver is in the future for ya!

Thanks George and Flanagan! I just uploaded a short video clip on youtube showing the war nickel dig. You can see at the beginning of the clip the VDI #'S range from 72-75, and it pinpointed at 3". The GoPro Hero 3 is great for reviewing the finds, because I get so excited when I find the goodies, that I forget the numbers. This way I can go back and learn from the clips. Go get you some!
Here's the clip. https://youtu.be/bz6TDijpbxg

MAKRO RACER POWER;
Just google coin cleaning. Collectable coins are better left alone, so don't go crazy with cleaning. I just knock the dirt off the clad coins and put them in the Coinstar machine at the grocery store. It cost .09 on the dollar but I think it's about the same as tumbling them and having to spend the time counting and handling them. I'd rather be hunting!

I wash my coins, roll them and bring to the bank. No charge and they have to take legal tender. No tumbling, no scrubbing. 100 percent profit.

Very nice !

Cheap dollar store toilet bowl cleaner does an awesome job of cleaning clad. Just swish each species around in the solution (in a reusable dollar store container) and then strain to save the solution to use again. Rinse and spend.

I use four separate containers for these splits.
1. All clad together (dimes, quarters, halfs etc.)
2. Copper pennies,
3. Zinc pennies.
4. Nickels.
