Swishing is Golden? Well I went out swishing this morning and what a great morning it was.

Its a gold 1937 Midland High School class ring. Too small for my little finger so probably a woman's ring. It has initials inside so I might be able to find out who it belonged to...if the person is still alive. It will, if a woman's ring, take going to the school to go through the yearbook for 1937 and matching names with initials...and then checking marriage announcements to see if the woman was married and what her new name might be. Seems much easier to find an owner if it is a guy...they don't change their names...unless they are in the witness protection program.

Guessing the person to have been 18 or 19 at graduation, I'm thinking the person was born around 1919. Not many people still alive from that time era. Speaking of 1919, remember the other day I got a 1919-S Wheat penny? Well, the penny is not longer lonesome as I now have a 1919 Buffalo nickel to go with it.

Here are all the coins and the ring I found today...including a 2004 5 cent Euro coin (bottom right next to the Buffalo nickel.

Won't post all the junk I got today...lots more shell cartridges, a couple fishing sinkers, bunch of bottle caps and some pull tabs.

It is my first class ring...we go to Midland about once a month for dog and cat food so will have to swing by the school library..or find and email address for the school and its librarian.

I first thought it said 87 and though cool the person is probably still alive and missing it. Now that I figure the person was born around 1919 or 1920 I'm not sure if that person is with us any longer.

Would still be nice to put a name with it and if I could find any other info about the person, etc.

Hang in there - your time is coming for a class ring.
 
WTG Pete! Ya did great! Nice ring and buff! I think that is a man's ring though. Remember they didn't have the junk food back then that we do today. Men were much smaller.
