A penny kind of a hunt. :fisher:

Hit the old military housing spot this morning and managed 16 Memorials, 7 wheat cents and 1 192? well worn Mercury dime. Had worked my way up to the tree in the 2nd picture and got a high tone hit with some depth to it. Need to mention that the trees get hunted pretty hard. I spent a good month one dry summer just hunting around the trees and with the root systems they have, the ground was crumbly and about the only place one could dig. I remember finding a lot of nickels, including several buffalos, but don't recall about the silvers. Anyway, dug the hit and recovered a wheat cent from about 5". Rescanned the loose dirt and the hole and over the hole got another faint hit. Found it with the Pro pin pointer and removed about a inch of dirt and it turned out to be the 20 something Merc. /Dug numerous tab tales looking for nickels, but alas, none surfaced this hunt.

Did play with DST 90/91 settings, but where I was hunting I didn't have any emi issues for being able to tell a difference. Other then then, had on the 5" coil and settings about the same as norm for me. HH jim tn

Jim I thought you were going to show me 70-80 or more pennies. Gad that is gas station pavement pennies to me. Only kidding. Nice hunt and again great detecting... Z

Ha, Z. I wish they had come that easy. Starting to get a tad dry here again. Yeah, I know about your penny numbers. With your last couple of hunts cent totals, you almost had enough for a gallon of gas at our prices here. Filled up this morning for $1.95.9 a gallon. Thanks, bud and good luck your next outing. Sure, go ahead and laugh. I'll laugh right back when me and a few friends carry the small tub of 4,000 plus pennies to the bank this winter. My wife and I will have a couple of nice meals at Culver's. :heh: Wow! I dig, I mean I dig those wine bottle caps like crazy. Really good copper/dime signal. I'll be out tomorrow digging some more pennies. Good night Guys.......Z
