A penny the size of a dime. What Oregon soil can do to a coin.

Amazing how that zinc corodes. Found a bunch of em like that in Eastern WA.
 
Yeah this penny has the entire rim eaten away. I've never seen one attacked like that and it has pock marks in the face of the coin. This volcanic soil sure plays hell with them.

Not to mention that they are made out of one of the worst galvanic metals on the planet. What were the Mint lackeys thinking, anyway?!
 
Who said they can think. It's like the SACS. They turn to crap fast and the gold can come off revealing a silver color underneath. Why they would dip them in that gold color that turns to baby poop brown in no time is a mystery to me.
