A Question about Kellyco....Just ordered Andy's Book..

I do have a few of Andy's books in my MD reference library. Though I will probably never own an e-Trac I do have an Explorer 2 which I will probably keep forever now the value of selling it dropped considerably with the SE and the e-Trac bringing the prices of used detectors down. Just want to get as much as I can from the money I spent on the Explorer 2. Its still the great machine it was and still does what it was created to do. Will be adding an SEF coil to it later to get even more usefulness from the detector.

I don;t follow the e-Trac forum so knew nothing about his site or offer. Ignorance is cureable with knowledge.

I am getting knowledge...at a cost.

Not sure where people came up with the idea that is was simply on the E-Trac considering the title is "The Minelab Explorer & E-Trac Handbook" but as others have discussed in posts on the book, it covers all Explorer models as well as the new E-Trac . . . . many of the tips and settings contributed by users worldwide are for the Explorer.

Make your final decision as to the value it has to you but if you are opting not to get a copy because you are not going to buy an E-Trac, it might be worth looking over some of the posts and reviews on the book.

Funny you mention that Andy as when I talked to customer service at Kellyco about the book the lady asked me if I had ordered the "e-Trac book". Even funnier is I thought she asked if I had ordered the 8 Track book? Guess my hearing is going...sucks getting old.

I did mention I might never buy an e_trac but I do know it covers the Explorers (I have the Exp II).

Wish I had known about your website before I had ordered it from Kellyco and ordered it from you instead. Oh well. I did post the link to your website and the book for those who are looking to buy your book.

Just another opinion I've had an Ex XS for 7 or 8 years, bought an Etrac last Sept. Love BOTH machines, I also have both of Andy's Explorer books, "Mastering The Minelab Explorer XS & S" and "The Minelab Explorer & E-Trac Handbook". Both very informative books, with a lot of info, some I use some I don't. But after spending $1200-$1500 on a machine, what's another $20 or so for something that very well provide settings etc. that may help you find more silver and/or gold. It doesn't take many silver coins or gold jewelry to cover the cost of the book. Some things pay for themselves. I think you find the book is worth every penny. Good Luck.

Sorry about that if I misled, haven't read your book, just the things I've heard or been told and the word E-Trac kept coming up, still heard it was a good book!

Maybe, but pretty comfortable where I am, and I've got my settings where I like it, and its fits my comfort zone. I've used the Explorer and Explorer II for a few years now and don't think it will change what works for me!! I am sure its a great book and can be very helpful, but I don't plan to change my settings, I read Mastering the Minelab when I first bought my Explorer and it was a great source of information, but now I prefer my settings to my ground conditions and as long as I'm enjoying what I'm doing and having success I'm good. I've heard nothing but good about the book, but just not interested in spending the money. This is not a negative post in any way and don't want any PM's or any other crap because I'm stating this. I read too much and I can't detect!! I'm old and don't change as easily any more and my 5 yr old takes more and more of my "free" time as it is and I love that too much and how can I put down the "Magic School Bus" for a metal detecting book

RIGHT ON JACK................I have read the book.....and it had alot of info............and good info........but im like you Jack ....got my settings and now a set of schematics .and a mine lab engineer on my phone list ........do what is right for you ..........see ya tomarrow
