A question for Ace 350 users

Been using my 350 for a couple of years now and it has what has become a very annoying "issue". When in anything but a mowed yard, it will give a false signal sometimes at the slightest bump into stubble, sticks etc. Does yours do this? Is this normal? Can it be remedied? Thanks for any input.

Did you wrap and secure your coil wire to the shaft? What is your sensitivity setting?

The cord is wrapped. I keep the sensitivity around 3/4 scale, but it will do that pretty much anywhere I put it.

Did you tape the coil wire at the shaft too? My 550 would false in tall weeds until I taped it. If that doesn't work, you may need to have it checked by service.

No I didn't tape it, but since I don't KNOW why its doing that, then the process of elimination will start with taping it! Lol. Thanks for the thought.

Run the wire so it's somewhat tight up the shaft and tape it or velcro it so it doesn't move, then wrap it. Let us know how it goes.

I also found out the hard way that steel toed boots and metal detecting don't get along.

It could just b a faulty coil. My 250 nor my at pro have had this problem.
