A question I was thinking about...

Pete in MI

Wonder if anyone has ever detected at the bottom of a ski hill say in the spring after the snow has melted and the rains have helped wash some goodies down the hill?

I think I once saw a website...or maybe it was someone here had posted pics of detecting and digging in the snow on toboggan and sledding hills. I have done that down in Lansing area before but most of what I wanted was deeper and frozen in the ground below the snow. Around here there are so many natural hills there are no public sledding hills. Guess kids just go out in their back yards and slide down the hills.

I know not far away is a ski hill. Wondering if anyone has done a ski hill - off season and the results. A waste of time or was it more than worth the effort?

Just wondering.

Yes people do, and I would love to detect some ski areas. They say there is gold in them there hills! People lose rings when the remove their gloves. Many coin too. There was an article in W. & E. T. magazine where a guy walked under the chair lift and just picked up what was dropped just after the thaw. With no detector! :) I say go for it, and I want to go too! :)

We have a local smaller slope here Pete and it is VERY fruitfull in the spring after the thaw.
