A quick hunt between showers on the 4th.... 1st pocket spill

After getting some honeydo's done, i figured I'd try and get a quick hunt in between thunder showers.
Went to the local high school, no good. Large festival going on and parking was non existent. I ended up back at the sports complex and started to work around the picnic area.
Lots of tabs and candy foil. Then a nice solid quarter signal. I noticed a second "bump" in the signal when sweeping over, but figured it was another tab.

When finish, I had the quarter, and 5 stacked dimes that were a few inches next to it. Just about then is when the next wave of showers came through. So not bad for a quick trip.

Thats killer! Not many can ascertain or pull a multidenom spill with a tight stack!...Lots of money in those spills if a guy can figure them out..Good Job, Wulfie!:clapping:

That is using your ears wulf. It sure does pay off lots of times to notice those little bumps. Great detecting.....Z

Thank you guys. I hope this is the start of some better hunts

I was fun to touch the first dime , then realize there are 4 more with it.

ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK THE HOLE.

Nice goin,

What coil were you using?

I was using the 6.5 conc.

Last year I had my biggest clad stabbing day ever, I started off with the 11" coil and just by chance I noticed I was getting some of the coins but with lots of trash I was having trouble moving along just getting the coins. I switched to the NEL Sharpshooter and things were better but still the trash was slowing me down. I put on the 6.5" elliptical and I was off for the cleanup, when I got a signal it was either good or bad. Maybe with practice I could have handled the bigger coils, but this day the little football was really doing good.

I did notice I could run with the little coil not being level with the ground, the toe being up just a little and I was getting better ground coverage for clad stabbing. I wouldn't recommend hunting that way for the deeper coins.

I agree.
The little football cooks when working through "tab land". The sports complex I hunt was engineered to be "drought hardy" and rest on a firm drainage base.
So even though the turf is really dense, you are into the base at around 6".
I like the "off the edge" readings this coil seems to get with the sensitivity turned up. Helps when edging fence lines and around light boxes at the sports fields.
