A short GQ SS coil update.

I have pretty much finished trying all four coils that I have for my GQ.
To review, two are monos from Eric...the 11" and 8". The other two are from Reg...the 11" DD and a smaller eliptical DD.
I can say without a doubt that the 11" DD is a far superior coil for gold hunting. The mono's are just way too noisy in hot ground. There are some area where the local rock will sound off so much as to make hunting a pain in the rear. Swap to the 11" dd and it is night and day.
The GQ SS has the potential to give the Minelabs a serious run for their money...as matter of fact as far as money goes the GQ is the best dollar for dollar Value for as PI machine compared to the Minelabs.
Now...this is only true if you can get a DD. I hope Eric will get the DD's out soon as the difference is so great it is unbelievable at times.
Now in ground that is not as hot the 11" mono is great. It has a bit better depth than the DD but only if the ground is agreeable with the mono.
So if you have a GQ and have been frustrated with the mono in certain ground be patient and see what Eric or Reg does for DD's.
If I could beg Eric for just one improvement it would be 2 coil size DD's....an 11" dd and smaller 7 or 8" dd........please oh please....it would be a big winner.

But it's still a few months away.
More like 6 months, I would dare to guess.
We need to make the DD coil stable at 10uS., and maintain it everywhere it's used.
I am familure with the coils your using, and the problems that Reg. had getting them to work properly.
To make a individual coil for one person as a test is one thing. To produce it so it's completely reliable to all users, is something completely different.
