A short hunt in the iron field.

Went to another site. Ground fairly hard. Nasty red dirt but the F19 motors along. The fork is old and sterling silver. Indian, pewter flat button, whats it.

TEX ..............nice recoveries.. How is the depth on that F-19 ..

Around 10 inches on small targets. Does very well in bad ground.

Just researched the makers mark on the fork,

ALLCOCK ALLEN

Made between 1810 and 1820 in New York NY. That's early and easy to straighten.

great finds....if it were me I'd straighten, polish and eat my fries with that fork, I've only found beatup, plated ones that go to the trash...liken my G2+, was a long wait but worth it....I see what you mean now...

Nice digs there, I like the sterling fork!

I've found half a dozen pieces of sterling silver flatware, but nothing that old, mines all been Victorian era stuff.

Looks like that site will produce some great finds for you

You get two machines in one. I put on the 11DD I got a G2+. You put on a 6x10 elliptical you got an F19. Go figure.

Not every hunt is a winner that's for sure. But to me the fun is in the research, being able to gain permission, and the anticipation of whats under that vco sound.
