A SILVER RING WITH A GOLDEN MESSAGE (CONT)

I went back to the same ball field that I found the first ring in and pulled this one out about 5 feet from there I found the other one.It was about the same depth and ID as the first one, what a thrill to see a shiny edge that turned out to be a ring.I have only been detecting since Christmas, in Feb I bought an M6 and have read a lot of post and learning about the detector and detecting. When I started detecting I thought you waved the coil over the ground and wallah, coin, ring, gold. Boy was I fooled and If it wasn't for the forum, the guys willing to help, being too stubborn to give up and sell my detector, I would not be enjoying this hobby and finding nice things like these silver rings. BTW these are my first silver rings and I found them both on Sundays. THANKS FOR LOOKING HH BOB

Nice ring you found there Hunter. I agree with what you said about folks on this and other forums helping a new guy learn about this hobby. I bought a XLT and the dealer went out of business a few months later, he was the only one in a hundred miles. I had no one to ask for help and after a few trips to the beach digging huge holes and finding nothing I put it in the closet for three years. I had my boat house rebuilt and the contractors were dropping nails all over the yard and beach area and my wife told me to get the meteal detector that I paid all that money for and see if it wll find nails. I chargerd up the battery and found a bucket full of nails in no time. About the same time I googled "metal detecting" and found this site and my problem was solved. All the help I needed was right here. I didn't mean to ramble on but I bet I'm not the first to give up because I thought coins and rings would just jump out of the ground. Good luck, Jim
