and I can assure you, your son will remember ALL your special times, not only because you want him to, but because you have that special knack for making things unforgettable to your family.
This past Saturday, I spent fishing, on a small pond. All the other camp members went fourwheeling, and I fished. As I sat in the boat, I heard the old owl hoot. Instantly, I thought of my daddy! I know he was there in spirit with me, and me and him and the fish just had a fine time.
I know he is with me, with the whipporill he bids me good night, and with the owl call he says good morning.
You are a good father, and I think you sit way high on a pedastal with you children and grandchildren! Letting them know about our life is one of the many ways we can create memories for them. I just wish I had paid closer attention sometimes. The best way is spending quality time with them, and getting the most out of it. Sounds to me like you did a fine job! Both with the turkies, and with your son! Then the best part is sitting down and "eating what you kill." Now days, we don't depend on that, but I remember days where my family would have gone hungary if it were not for the rewards of a hunt!
You and my brothers should get together. They love to turkey hunt, especially Johnboy. As far as I know, there is no law about how long you can hunt as long as it's in season.
Thank you for this very special post. Took me back to days gone by, hunting with my father. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="
