With both of these detectors having a flat, painted control box bottom with instructions written on them, why could you not put a "self sticking" clear, plastic sheet on the bottom of the detector. Most office supplies sell "self sticking" clear plastic sheets for folks needing to protect their passport cards or photos. You could cut it to size and just carefully stick it on the bottom. It seems to me that it would protect the control box bottom from scratches. Just an idea to think about. Kelley (Texas) :)
 
That's a good idea Tex. I think I will do that to mine to keep my scratches from getting scratched.
