A slickster and a Green Meanie............:hot:

Hawkeye Jim

New member
While on overnight travel for work yesterday..........I hunted a big old school yard that on occasion coughs up an oldie now and then........wasn't having to much luck, just finding some clad, so I figured I might as well quit and started hunting in the direction of my car when bamm, a decent deep signal that was reading 12 - 41............figured it was probably an old wheatie and to my surprise out popped the 1875 slick Liberty Seated Dime :yikes:..........well that got the adrenalin going and a little while later I popped out the 1887 Indian Head Cent :super:.

Just goes to show........persistance and a little luck go a long way!!!

HH - Hawkeye Jim.

very nice thanks for showing

Nice finds, and that indian is in good shape! -- Randy

2 very nice coins and that Indian is very crisp yet. Are those battle wounds on the front of the Indian or was it found that way?

Thank you for sharing,
Moose

Awesome digs, you can clearly see the dings on the Indian are old marks, if u had hit it, you would have shiny copper marks. That dime came in like a wheat and the exact reason I always dig wheat signals. I hate wheats but I'm willing to dig them in hopes for getting a slick silver. Dug a slick merc just last weekend that came in at 12-41....plus the two center I dug awhile back came in at 12-41 as well

Were we hunting the same area yesterday? I dug the same year of IH. But you got me by 17 years on the dime! Congrats. HH Randy

Awesome Jim!

Those "surprises" are definitly fun to deal with. Thanks for the pictures.
