a STRANGE happening at my house...

warthog

New member
Yesterday,I noticed a wet spot on my drywall in the hallway, down near the floor in my house;about2"x4"..I wiped it off;the wetness came back. This morning;it was still wet-I thought being that it was wet right over a spot where it was nailed to the stud,I had visions of inner-wall structural damage due to moisture gettin in;somehow.....WELL:I took the proverbial"bull by the horns"this morning- with the go-ahead from the boss(My Wife);-and tore a 2 foot by 4 foot hole in that wall;and-REALLY,it was only 3inches by about 5 inches-I pulled out that piece of drywall to find-NADA-everything back there was BONE DRY-studs;insulation,flooring-ALL DRY-Even the back of the wet drywall was bone dry.:thumbup:Thank You,LORD!! SO: Ive come to the conclusion something was spilled on it from INSIDE-My wife said it must have had something to do with ME cleaning out our spare bedroom yesterday-I gotta admit, the wet spot IS close to the doorway of the room I cleaned out...BUT;I didnt clean out anything that coulda spilled -I told my wife I think a big wad of snow from HER pants was the most likely culprit....

Warthog,

Let us know if /when that wet spot dries up... should be dried by today, no? this is interesting.

you left a door ajar...in walks a door that needs glasses..sees a spot that looks like a fire hydrant and decides to water same...guess it is a stretch and to have left the door open twice and the same dog came in twice....hmmmm...did you clean your glasses? Maybe you had a water drop on your glasses (though I don't recall you wearing glasses). Then again this reminds me of what someone once told me. He mentioned 'someone' wanted to get even with a neighbor for some unknown reason. The evil doer snuck out in the middle of the night and poured a half bottle of engine oil on the pavement under the engine. He mentioned 'this person' watched as the neighbor went out to the car and looked to see why there was oil on the ground (probably on the person's way to work so had little time to investigate) well then the person comes home, cleans up the oil where the car was parked, next morning another pool of oil under the car. Was told this went on for about a week and then one day the neighbor came home driving a different vehicle (probably a loaner since the other was probably now in the shop to be repaired.) Then you have to imagine the cost for taking it to the shop for repairs it didn't need, the accusation at the shop that it has to have a leak because of all the oil on the ground, etc.

Some people can be real rotten.

So who is watering your wall?

Talking strange Sherry has a night gown that was folded neatly in a drawer. She pulled it out one day to wear it and it looked like swiss cheese. I appeared that someone had taken a razor blade and hacked holes in it. Even more surprising is that when the gown was refolded the holes all lined up and had the exact same shape...again they looked like they were hacked into the gown with a razor blade.

Did I happen to mention the house we had moved into was previously owned by a woman who had gargoyle statues and candles that she had burning around the living and dining room?

Hope it is just one of those mee-ra-jahs and the wall wasn't really wet...just looked like it. :)

Good thing the inside was dry! Some things we never figure out! :)
