A Top Pro's Gold

These are a few standout finds from last year of a top pro in the Caribbean. This guy has an incredible work ethic and has taught me a lot. The big chain in the middle is 18k, 90 grams, the bangle at right has thirty diamonds and is a $5000 peice. The other bangle is 18k, 33 grams. He also sold a diamond for $14500 this year and has another Channell ring that is worth about the same.

I've been wading in 33 degree temps since sun-up unsuccessfully trying to duplicate some finds like these!
That there is some good loot..!
We need a big storm up here to move some sand...though I have been mildly successful finding silver "hunting with my feet" on very small areas of hardpack, just no gold yet this year.
Gonna switch to parks and sportsfields and snowpiles for a bit I'm thinking.

Mud, the only hope for you and me is to metal detect the inside of Fort Knox............there again, mice, spiders and dust bunny's are non-ferrous and non-detectable cuz that's probably all that's in there anymore I think the gubberment has already 'metal detected' it what say you? LOL!!!

44 degree water and 37 degree air temps with no wind here this AM Mud!! A little too rough out there and the sand has shifted keeping me down to 12 targets (Only 2 clad coins-the rest junk!) recovered in 13/4 hours!!

He runs an Excal and once in a while a CZ21 large coil. one thing I admire about him is that he's master of the "hit or miss" working a lot of places that don't have much potential. The massive chain is from one such place that I would'nt dream mof "wasting" time. He also covers the places he choses to hunt very thoroughly.

He certainly has a retro hunting eye!...hunting low outcome looking places...basically hunting areas overlooked by other detectorists? Makes sense...those high sands or off to the side areas seldom get hit by any one...generally, a detectorist who "reads a beach" heads straight into the high traffic areas, hits the towel line and right into the water they go! On a big enough beach, theres all sorts of stuff higher up and off to the side that can not see a coil for quite a while....a guy knows pretty fast by the lack of foil/tab targets on the main area whats going on...thats why its exciting for a beach hunter to find a gray tab...maybe, just maybe, nobody has worked this place, and why not? a guy asks himself, why is this tab, foil, or nickel here?...on account of its not an easily recognized high traffic Primary drop zone generally...sure do have to cover a lot of dead sand in those areas sometimes. On the main beach in season, a dropped ring, penny, cell phone or Q dont last 2 days without having a coil over it...so not only are we up against the elements, we are up against each other, and evidently this guy figured that out, and hunts where most others dont... Good stuff to think about CJC!...thanks!
