Wow, this month is and has been a blurr, so much happening and all at once it seems. Our 44 year old son finally got around to getting married on June 05, in the small N.E. mountain town of Helen, Ga. My wife and I headed up on Thursday morning. We had rented a condo for two days prior, and our daughter and son_in law was going to go with us. As the time got nearer, our daughter who was about 2 weeks away from delivering our first grandchild, realized that she would not be able to make the wedding and the trip up with us., so she and her husband remained at the house, closer to the hospital and her Doctors. My wife and I got to Helen and got settled into our condo and met our son and the rest of his side of the family for dinner on Thursday night, the 04 June. Friday, June 05, was the day of the wedding. They had a small, but very nice wedding, very well done, in the small wedding chapel in Helen. After the wedding, the wedding party, and the family met once again for lunch and visited and had a great time. They say that good things come to those that wait, and we think our son did great, he married a beautiful young lady that we have fully adopted as our other daughter. She, her Mother, and her sister were from Bosnia originally and came to America with her step father when he got out of the service. When he came back home to America, he brought his wife and two daughters with him. She is a True American Story, but that's another story for another time. My wife and I stayed Friday night in Helen and was returning home the following day. Helen is approx. 2.5 hours from our home. Saturday morning we got up and loaded the car, and headed for home. We had been on the road for about 45 minutes when our son-in law callsmy wife and says that our daughter is having a pretty rough time having pain, and what appears to be contractions. My wife told them to head to the hospital just to be on the safe side. A short time later we get a call back and our daughters husband tells us that Katie, our daughter had been admitted to the hospital. We went straight to the hospital to check on them. Our daughters due date was on the 19th. She remained in Labor & Delivery until our Grandson, Matthew Kevin Richard Bolton or "Matty" as we call him was born on Tuesday, June 09. His Mother's birthday was June 10th. Almost had the same birthday as his Mom. Katie was able to come home yesterday, but little "Matty" has to remain in NICU for a few more days being premature. He's a beautiful baby and weighed in at 7lbs 09oz. at birth. He has twice as much hair as his Pappa. I told Mom and Dad to call Great Clips and make Matty an appointment and they can stop and get him his first haircut on his way home once he's released from the hospital. So, we will be going back and forth to visit with him until he comes home. Mom is doing well, just very sore from having had a C section. She is understandably a little upset to have to be separated from her baby for a short while, but both are doing well, Thank God. I hated that Katie had to miss her brothers wedding, but it all worked out for the better. No way that she could ha e made the trip. I was afraid that she was going to try to go, but it was just too close to her delivery date. It wound up being closer than we thought. I didn't mean to be so long winded, but WHEW, what a last couple of weeks it has been. I'll try to post a few pic's up shortly. Thanks for being patient, and I hope I have 't bored yall to death. I hope everyone has a Great weekend.
