A visit from far far away!!!...............

I have met and hunted with many of you here on this forum. Some from not so far away, and others from a long ways away. Like Leslie from Nova Scotia, he came almost 1500 miles, and Steve in AZ came almost 2000 miles. But this time I was visited by Rentasquid ( J from Oregon ) who came over 2300 miles!
He brought his son to Indiana to start college, and made it a point to come up here so we could finally meet after several years of an on-line friendship.
Last night my daughter Grace and I met up with J, Beth, and Holly at a restaurant for dinner. We had some good food, and great fellowship!

After dinner and fellowship it was 9pm so J and I made last minute plans to go diggin in the morning at a local older park that was used as a pre - hunt a couple years ago before a forum hunt. I picked him up at 7:30 am and we headed to the park. It was very wet with dew, but most of the ground was very dry.
Here is J swingin along.

I seen this spider web covered with dew from a ways off, and had to get a pic. It was better than the pic.

It was a very short visit, but a long time coming. I was blessed to have finally met J and his family. Pray for them as they have a long trip back home.
The best I could do was 3 wheats from the 30's and 40's. But the hunt was more about getting together than what we found. Thank you Lord! :)

Happy visiting and happy hunting with long-distance friends, Mike, is a great combination! Glad you, Grace, J and family could get together and have fun digging and chatting! Thanks you for posting the pic of him and his family, as seeing what our forum friends look like is always an enjoyment!

Praying for safe travelling back home for all of them!

God Bless!
Betty

I forgot to mention, me son, that the 2nd pic of the spiderweb looks a lot like it is in the shape of angel wings or am I imagining things with my old eyes? Nature is full of the wonders of God to learn and know that He is Jesus. our Savior, and truly exists, Who's the One and only God, Who created the world, animals and humans! What do you think about the pic??????

God Bless!

the bottom was not made, so it was not like the circle ones we usually see.

I had a great time, and enjoyed the visit a lot. I wanted to visit with Ms. Betty when I was in the St. Louis area, but just ran out of time. I'll try to visit her next time!

Hi J, sorry you couldn't come for a visit, because you missed seeing a house in a big mess! Cliff and I have been in the middle of redoing, repainting, repairing and packing that we don't know whether we are moving in or moving out! I do have the refinancing of my home and the int only loan taken care of and that was a time-consuming process to go through with thousands (ok.....less) of papers to sign and the stress of having it over with and then the termite and home inspections on the Cuba, MO, home that I am closing on near the end of Sept has kept me in a tither....(hey....that's another older folks word) Also had a new electrical box put in on mine and termite damages repaired! WHEW!

Found out today that the storm they had down in the Cuba and Rolla areas caused the roof shingles to crack and there will be a brand-new roof put on the Cuba, home.....sooooo that is a blessing and hope it matches the color of the shed roof unless it needs a new one too....don't know yet about it! The inspections haven't been quite finished. My RE lady is taking care of it all for me and she is getting stressed too, sooooo prayers for her would be great! When she is stressed she bites a blister on her lower lip and she woke up with one this morning, but she's getting everything taken care of before the closing and I sure am thankful!

When you get to Missouri again, I may not be living where I am now but in Cuba, MO, so whether here or there please stop by and see Cliff and I if you possibly can, as I sure would like to meet you and your family! May God bless you with safe living, travelling and happy hunting! Hope you find lots of really nice goodies!

but the payoff is worth it!!! Beth's parents have some good friend that live in Rolla, and I have been in that area before. Pretty nice area. Hope that all goes well with your move!
