Abandoned farm town hit for the first with a T2

Found an abandoned farm on some research this week.3000 acres 6 cellar holes with barns and a huge homestead. All out in the middle of what is now a pine forest with hardly no brush..Amazing!!
I walked through and back i stopped at 1 cellar hole and netted these finds.....I guess i have a place to hunt for a few months.I figured they pulled out in the 1850's.Colinial sites like this are my favorites...
Now i run my T2 at about 93 sens 21 disc 2+ when im around the cellar holes they can be a little trashy sometimes..
When i head further away i run 95 DISC 0 and i always use 2+.
It seems to get to jumpy at 99 sens...
Any tips...
John
P.S. the coins are a very nice shape 1830 large cent and at the beggining newer section i got a 1891 seated liberty

Nice, I hope you find a nice cache! Be careful to whom you show and tell locally... you might start finding new holes when you get back out there.

Keep posting pics!

Hey, I wasn't referring to you when I posted... I had not yet read your post, I don't know you or the OP, so nothing personal was intended or implied. I've just heard horror stories from friends.

Its always a hush hush thing. But i dont mind meeting new people to take out with me after i have felt they have the code of ethics....
I have already experienced a violation of that.....
Im hoping to find a washington button
Or maybe some massachusetts bay colony coinage....

If I were working my T2 at a similar site, I would also be using 2+ Audio Tones all the time, a setting of '0' Discrimination unless trashy, and then no more than about '21' to conquer Iron nails. My Sensitivity would be s high as possible w/ instability. That's exactly how you're hunting it now!

So, the only T2 tip I can share is to go with a 5" DD when you get into the more trashy areas.

Congratulations of the research efforts and for reporting your results afield and settings used. I trust you'll have continued success on a few of your future visits.

It would be cool if you could film a little bit of your hunting. I like to see video of cellar holes and the surrounds being hunted, especially when the screen and audio is shown as the target is detected. Just sh owing the hole and the target being pulled out is about like going to a store and window shopping... it shows nothing helpful. I don't mean to film the whole hunt, that would not be practical but backing up and filming a few swings showing the screen once you've found a target that you intend to dig, showing the screen from a couple of different angles, and then showing the recovery would be awesome... I tried that a few times but with the camera I was using it was too much of a bother to get them changed to MP3 and loaded... plus they were only a coupl of minnies. I've been wanting to get a Flip type video camera so it would be easy to do...

anyway... i'd like to see that. we have no cellar holes around here, not that i've ever seen anyhow and I find it really interesting.
