About not using a GPS

Well i bought one, had my old maps, gps software, everything,, but problem was i don't get very far away from home base, i would seek out a location with GPS, and then find out from old residents that i was 1/4 mi off or something to that effect, and it was actually was giving me more information than i needed for what type of detecting i do around here, I'm sure it would work fine for some others in other areas, but in my little world it just wasn't worth the extra cost of detecting, and that's why i don't use one, i returned it for a refund, nice but not for me :|

I have a GPS, but also with everything "in my backyard" so to speak, I never use my hand GPS. Now on road trips I use my laptop GPS program and carry my hand GPS for detecting and birding. Very useful when out on the road.
