accusound pro headphones

well ive used and abused and broke and fixed and, broke again...and fixed again, the pair i got. does anyone have an opinion on them? i like mine but i dont want to be missin out on a better pair. ive counted my clad coins and there burnin a hole in my pocket. its a toss up between new headphones or that 15x12 sef coil.

If they have broken that many times I think I would try a better pair. I have several that I like for different reasons but the pair I always end up going back to are the SunRay Pro Golds.

A great pair of quality phones are top priority on any list of accessories for me.And I to prefer the Pro Golds on the E-Trac.As a matter of fact I just bought 2 more pair last night off this forum as I never want to be without them,Ray.

them pro golds seem to be built pretty sturdy. wouldnt mind trying a pair. if anyone has a spare set for sale, send me a message. and thanks for the suggestions guys.
you know...them accusound headphones have really good sound but the solder joints on the switches went bad. the left speaker quit first and i just resoldered 1 joint. then the other speaker quit so i resoldered all three. seems like they get moisture thru the switch. what bugs me is that theyre only a year old. now they work just fine but im afraid there gonna break again when i need 'em the most.

they have a lifetime warranty, just send them to Koss;

When mine broke I sent them to Koss like I was told to do by Kellyco. KOSS SENT THEM BACK!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE NOT MADE BY KOSS. THEY ARE MADE BY DETECTOR PRO. YOU NEED TO LEARN YOUR OWN PRODUCTS!!!!!!!
Eventually, I bought a pair of the Black Widow headphones from Detector Pro and have never looked back. The accusound are a cheaply built clone of the Detector Pro headphones, in my opinion. Why settle for a high priced inferior product made by the top of the line manufacturer for Kellyco when you can get the top of the line, much better set from Detector Pro for about the same money.

I use the SunRay headphones. They are comfortable for me and cut out most of the external noises, cars, wind, etc. For my old XS, I have a set of Accusound made by Koss, that had a volume control break and the ear pads were torn. I sent them in to KOSS and was sent a new pair for no charge.

i think mine are made by detector pro...or radio shack. (there is an R int the corner like a radio shack logo.) davew0710-- you seem a little bitter towards kellyco? what do you like best about them black widow headfones? i want to buy a pair that is so sensitive to them subtle tones, that if an ant farts ill hear it!

wish i could try them all and then pick one.

I have had mostly great experiences with Kellyco over the years, and will have many more I am sure. I was a little frustrated with the earphone dilemma, having to UPS twice, then losing detector time because of the extra time I was without the earphones. I was mostly upset that JW was giving false information after I complained to Kellyco about my being told to send to the wrong manufacturer for service.
C&RHunter in a post above says he had a problem with the accusound and sent them to Koss and they repaired or replaced the headphones for him. Kellyco may be farming the headphones out to the lowest bidder and have several companies that made them. Who knows.
I had my accusounds for about 3 months before the wiring in the cord broke. I don't think they are as well made as they should be for the money you pay. I bought a set of Detector Pro for about the same cost. The construction is heavier duty, and the sound quality is way better in my opinion.
I have to agree with your comment about trying them all. I think if I decide to get another set of earphones, I will go to a hunt and ask people to let me try whatever brand they use and see what I like best.

My first set of AccuSound headphones were bought in 2000 and the one replaced by Koss was in 2005. This set says clearly "by KOSS" on them, so davew0710 may be right about various companies making them. Here is a picture of the set that I have. Hopefully you'll find a pair quality phones you like. A good set of phones makes a LOT of difference.

thanks for all your posts guys. i think im gonna get a set of sunray pros. all the top end phones seem to have all the same features as far as sound quality but they, differ in price due to application. suunray seems to be the most for the money except it dont have a removable cord. i can deal with that.

Is that a peace pipe or a cain in the background of your pic?

Ray, it's a catlinite peace pipe, with hickory stem, I have made during this inside weather we've been having.
