Ace 150 or 250?

My grandpa is a big detector and i go detecting with him. We like to research ghost towns and new places to detect. He has a nice White and an old tesoro I think. i use the old tesoro, but am ready to get one of my own. I am going to college in the fall and would like to take one with me there to find some places to detect. I have decided on either the Ace 150 or Ace 250 from Garrett because of price and the great reviews. heres my question. Is it worth spending the little extra for the 250 or is the 150 fine. How much of a difference is there in the two. I like the idea of the 250, but if there wasn't too much of a difference id just save a little money and get the 150. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks alot

If you'll be dirt diggin', go with the 250!! It's got 5 different preset moses and the 150 only has 3. The 250 has a pinpoint, none on the 150. Both have the same electronics so depth and such are the same. If you only plan to use it at beaches where the pinpoint is not needed, go with the 150 and buy a scoop with the extra 50 bucks. Good luck and happy hunting!!

The Garrett Ace 250 has created a worldwide buzz because it presents a great value.

It's well worth the extra money and get the 250. You will need the pinpoint at times.

sounds good then. I was leaning towards the 250. Just looked better when lookin at specs. thanks a lot. we do mostly relic and coin hunting and I live in Iowa so 250 must be the way to go

And no tax - also, if they don't have it on hand, having them order one can go fast - they told me a week and it was there in 5 days when i checked.
And I would go for the ACE 250 - and keep the Tesoro too.

Get the 250 by all means. The pinpoint alone is worth the extra few bucks, plus if you decide to sell it you'll get a lot more..
