Ace 250 Coil with a longer cord? Where can I find one?

I'm planning on doing some customization work on my Ace 250. Does anyone know of a source for the Garrett 9"X12" (Or similar) coil with a 8ft or longer cord? Thanks for any help!:detecting:

I believe Garrett will make you up an extension. Call & ask for Sue Wilson @ 1 800 527 4011. The other option is to make your own extension, if you can order the parts from an electronics store.

If you have time to wait Garrett will make you one at any length. They don't make coils everyday. It would be good to have your local dealer call them for you.

Thanks for the advice! I had not yet contacted Garrett, but figured there may be one available though their retailers. I will look into making an extension, but if not will contact Garrett Directly. Thanks .John.

Your not going to find it at a dealer. Garrett sent me an old cable off of a bad one they had. Then I soldered it to my existing cable. Those wires are tiny! I don't think I would do it again. I would buy a custom made coil from Garrett.

i am surprised no one has asked this question, what kind of mod are you planning on doing?
what are you planning on using it for....... Mike

I chest mounted my 250 as my eysight is failing. I emailed Garrett and they sent me a wire off a bad coil with the connector on and a connector for the other end and i had to solder it on myself. Just one thing though you should cover the connector with tape or vynl as if you touch it you cause hand capacitance and the detector will squak. HH Ken

I'm going to chest mount and hopefully waterproof the detector. Seems simple enough to do, but the short lead on the coil was my only real concern.
