I was trying out my Gpp yesterday and the Ace 250 found this bullet in a tot lot play ground. It was about a foot deep and was ringing up as a nickle.I think the sand may be from the Carolina beach area or something.Do you think it's the real deal.I'm in Raleigh N.C. so I'm thinking when they scooped the sand up on the beach it just road along for the trip.Found a lot of coins yesterday but this truly made the day real or not. Thanks guys ,HH

Hahahaha.
I was going to say the same thing: LOOKS LIKE THE REAL DEAL TO ME TOO.

If it was a foot deep it may have been brought in when they brought in dirt to level the area
out and build the tot lot, or it might be exactly where it landed years ago or it could have been dropped by someone
recently. I wouldn't bet on the last possibility.

There must be hundreds of thousands of them laying around. Can't even imagine how many thousands of rounds
were fired during the Civil War.

I must post a correction on the above post.I said the bullet rang up as a nickle in fact it rang in as a penny with the bell sound .Big thanks to all HH.

Nice find!:garrett::detecting:Coulda been trucked in with the sand, but you'll be surprized what you find in tot lots sometimes. I've never found a minnie ball in a tot lot, but I've found all kinds of bullets and rounds. Boys carry around all kinds of stuff to show off to their friends. It being lead (and heavy) I could see it sinkin' down a foot. Anythings possible. Either way, it's a nice find. Thanks for sharing.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Really cool find no matter how it got there..

there all these years i bet some youngster had it to
show off like MH said above
