Ace 250 helps fight Terror

So it's late at night and I have nothing to do.
I slide in a DVD called CLASSIFIED, a two DVD set
about the nations armed forces: Special forces, Green Berets,
Rangers, Navy Seals etc etc. The narration gives a nice history
of the beggings of these fellows, dateing from Rogers Rangers the Revolutionary
War, to Darbys Rangers of the Second World War. The DVD is really
interesting and shows the training of these moderen warriors.
The wepaons array of these brave boys is amazing. I really wasn't
aware of how silent (surpressed) a silencer on a weapon could be. Finally,
the last episode is about the war or terror. The narration takes us to
Afghanistan. Halfway into the show I notice something very familiar. Our
soldiers were investigating a house were informants said they thought
weapons were being hidden and there was this guy swinging a metal
detector. I recognized it immediately, with that funny yellow color and a
tone I can't forget, especially after two years of listing to it whenever my
machine detected a target. A soldier is swinging an Garrett Ace 250 detector.
I slowed the DVD down and froze it on selected scenes and took pictures
with my digital camera. The quality leaves much to be desired.

i wonder how many thousands of dollars each our government paid for those garretts ace 250 detectors??

That is cool. I was not aware that the military is using that machine. I can tell you from experience, that little yeller feller beats the heck out of those old mine detectors that we used in the Army back in the day. It's a heck of alot cheaper than that Recon Pro that Garrett makes for counter mine operations, too. Plus with that Ace you have great discrimination capabilities. Recon Pro is pulse induction.

I'd be willing to wager that is a CSI 250, which Garrett makes for law enforcement agencies. Same as Ace 250, but with different icons above the LCD display. Garrett also makes a CX Investigator for law enforcement. The Sea Hunter MKII and Infinium LS are also widely used by law enforcement agencies.
Thank you for sharing. Very interesting. Happy Hunting:)

Hi Metalhead:

There was one scene (I did not try to take its picture) that does show the Ace 250 logo on the yellow houseing but
it was to fuzzey to even try capturing it off the TV with my digital. The Ace really is a good machine and very
under priced but thats ok. The more I use the machine (I've had mine two years now) the more I learn it's little
quriks and what I can do with it.

WTG Garrett and ACE 250!! Thanks for post old K!!!:usaflag::garrett:

"That one is probably personnaly owned by one of the troops!"

If so I hope he/she finds some old coin or something.
My god, with all the blowing up the terrorist fighters are doing
I wouldn't be surprised if an old coin or two might get blown out with the
blast! Or maybe not. And I guess the finder might have a better chance getting
it out of the country than you or I would as a tourist.
