Ace 250 problem

New member
I went out yesterday in 80- deg temp. Was doing O K and I didn't pickup any signal for a while. When I looked at the detector it had powered off. I turned it back on and went about my business and in about five minutes it shut off again. This went on for about 15 minutes an gave up. The batteries are new. I even put the second set of new ones in. I tried to tap the control and it wouldn't shut off. Any ideas? Thanks. Dirty Don

Hmmm...I would say you need to call Garrett! That's a new one on me.:garrett:

Oakman: That would be a good idea except I had a switch modification done last year or so and I don't think Garrett would touch it. I might be SOL. But, it was a good machine while it lasted........O;(

Although you replaced the batteries, be sure the battery contact (machine) are clean and the batteries fit in snug (not loose). I had a detector (Not ACE) where I had to stretch out the spring contacts just a little for tighter battery contact. And cleaned the contact points with a clean erasure.
Other than that - I dunno.

are u sure u are not hitting the PWR Button for pin-pointing ,, never had that happen ,, hold the PWR button for 5sec and when u hear
2 beeps it's reset good luck on finding out

Turn the machine on and place it on a table or the floor and just leave it to see if it still turns off.

If it doesn't, you have a vibration/ physical problem...poor connection etc.

If it does your problem is likely a little more serious.
