ACE 250 verses Fishers 2 or 4

I really don't see the value in comparing an Ace 250 and an F4, considering the F4 costs nearly twice what the Ace 250 costs. Ace 250 vs F2 is a fair comparison.

Regardless of the detector you pick if persistence is your strategy you will find valuable objects. Research helps a lot. If your detecting at a home site built in 1994 your probably not going to get old silver. I started out with a Bounty Hunter quick silver my girlfriend bought me (now my wife) for my birthday. I found 4 gold rings (the last one found when my f70 was in the mail) 4 silver rings, and a hand full of silver coins in 2 seasons. If anybody has experience with the quick silver they would tell you its not a very good machine. I don't like to complain about my first detector because its a gift and it got me hooked on the hobby but i think you get the point. My opinion get the F4. Its a fair price for what you get. It doesn't have the annoying bell tone, 99 TID and your can get the DD. My hunting buddy has a 250 and i insist he uses headphones because of the bell tone:)

I have an ace 250 and aside from some things Id like to see changed or fixed about it I am really happy with it. But the best part of it is that it does what its supposed to do , its well built , and excells at finding coins easily. Those are the main reasons the ace is so popular. But other detectors can be described the same way , I havent used the fisher f series detectors or the other similar ones so I cant comment on them but they probably have the same strengths as the ace 250. So they are all or mostly decent detectors and those who own them will naturally prefer the one they have and usually will reccomend them to others. One thing Ive noticed about ace owners though is they are very well liked by a huge number of people who have had many other detectors in the past , some of them superior to the ace , but they still love the ace. That says a lot about a detector. That many seasoned detectorists who have had a lot of time in the field and know quite a bit , some currently owning a higher end detector , still love the machine. Thats not to say its better than an f2 or others , just that it explains a lot about the popularity of the machine.
