Hello Rick, Food for thought...

I'm sure your daughter will get the majority of her education, in metal detecting, from you. Is she 'On-Line' and using the Internet? Elsewhere on this Christian site, I introduced 'River City Treasure Club', which is an 'On-Line' only metal detecting club for beginners. RCTC is part of Ning.Com and is FREE to join. All she will need is a 'User Name' & a 'Password' and she's good to go. Check it out. There's a variety of useful articles to study and a multitude of video's to watch, including one of the proper way to dig that may be useful to her.

The address is: http://www.rivercitytreasureclub.com/

You're so very fortunate to have your children enjoying this wonderful hobby with you. You are blessed! Hope to see you on the 'Club'.

Rick, she should like the 250. It works really good. Once she practices the pinpoint she will be able to get pretty close to target with it. Some say they have had trouble, but after a few days out on the hunt, I can get really close. Good little detector for the price. Comes pretty close most of the time in identifying target. I have had a few missed hits, but not many. Run mostly in All Metal or Coin mode, and the 250 has a distinct tone for coins. Sometimes the tone will come up Aluminum, but not often. Let us know how she does.
