Ace 350 and four days of detecting

Finally, after many many months with a bum shoulder
and a nasty heel spur (had it operated on) I finally
got out. After a period of four days I accumulated $12
in clad, two Roosevelt Silvers 1949 and 1962, a dog
tag, and Eagles medallion 1984, a miniature fork
spoon and knife set(an ear ring) and several Scout
Neckerchief tie sliders.
I found the two silvers on a soccer field at an old high
school. I don't think it had ever been gone over with a
detector. It had been fenced in for thirty years. In the
middle of this week, a construction crew went in to remove
a set of bleachers and re-fence the entire area. They tore
out the old fence and Left the the entire recreation area
open including the foot ball field. The new fence went up
today. No chance of detecting the football field.
Trading in the Ace 250 for the 350 was indeed a good
decision....for me. The clad and the tie sliders all cleaned up
nicely in my rock tumbler from Harbor Freight.

I forgot to add that all those Boy Scout clips came from
the back yard of a Church in my neighborhood. Put them in
the rock tumbler and PRESTO!

Wow, Robert, you weren't kidding, those Neckerchief tie sliders did come out of the tumbler NICE!! Very cool variety of items too.:clapping: To bad you couldn't have a few weeks to pour over that recreation area:cry: Glad your healing up nice and back out "working the claims"

Thanks.
I find that by using vinegar, and two or three heaping spoons
of salt and a drop or two of dish washing soap, the grime comes
off real quick. I tumbled them for and hour, rinsed them and tumbled
them again for another hour. For some reason the salt mixed with
the vinegar seems to make the difference. Only wish I could have
found more silver.

Glad you're out detecting and feeling better. Nice finds. I'd like to find some scouting stuff.
