Ace 350 Question

Why do the steel bottle caps sound and show up as coins? How can you tell the difference before you dig? Thanks for any info.

That's just one of the drawbacks of the DD coil, I think. After you pinpoint a target that you think might be a bottle cap, Switch your ace to all metal mode, and then swing the coil in very short swings (almost a wiggle) over the target, pulling the coil back toward you. You will hear belltones, but right as the coil gets past the target, if it is a bottle cap, it will usually give a low tone. If you don't hear the low tone, you can be fairly sure that it's a good target. ( I say fairly sure, because I have dug bottle caps that didn't give the low tone. Rarely, but every now and then, one will sneak by the system!)
Good luck, and HH
Darren
