this was my first tot lot hunt in a wile as i"v been hunting some oldies with the other detector & the new jobs cutting down the days i can hunt :cry:.
I decided this morning i wasn't coming home until i found some gold. Had a bit of a slow start the first two tot lots were fairly clean only found two 5c pieces the third i found 35c i was starting to think i"d be lucky to find $5 for the day but it started to pick up at the next lot the coins & junk showed up :) then just behind the swings i got a iron-tinfoil-5c hit scraped about an inch of bark off it turned into a tinfoil-5c hit dug down 4 more inch & out pops a big gold earring (sweet :clapping: ) the next lot was full of coins & junk all up i got over $15 from this one so it was starting to look good the next lot had only 6 targets but one under the swings was a iron-tinfoil-5c hit dug down 2 inch & out pops a little gold ring with a blue sapphire (sweet +2 :jump:) the next two lots were a bit slow with a few coins & a bit of junk coming out of them
At the second to last lot the coins & junk started to flow again then under the monkey bars i got a iron-tinfoil hit scraped an inch off & there's a small gold hoop earring (sweet +3 :hot:) & not to far away i found the smallest silver hoop earring i"v ever seen ( :happy: ) the last lot was a fizz er as i only found two 10c pieces & one 5c.
so all up i found 76 coins for $32.25 - 1 silver earring & 3 gold = one 9k gold ring & two unmarked earrings i think the big gold earring is high k gold as it"s soft & has a slite green colour to it & it came outta the ground as shiny as the day it was made also found 53 pull tabs for my ever increasing collection.

I really appreciate your telling the ID info on the finds. I don't know if the iron/foil signals would show up in the relic mode or not-so I assume you were in the a/m mode?:confused:
 
I think the Ace is the BEST MD'er for tot lots. I love how the sniper coil can get next to the metal equipment. I have found lots of things 1" from the metal posts. My other MD'er can't get with in 10" of the posts with the sensitivity turned down. I am glad I have my "Ace in the hole" for tot lots.

ivanll i like showing all the junk to show how much i"v got to dig to get the good stuff.

slingshot i don't think the ace would have picked up the gold in relic mode. i run all metal all the time i just like to hear whats under the coil gets a bit noisy some times but you get use to it.

John i"v got a sniper coil but don't use it that much i like the ground coverage of the standard coil i was thinking of getting another ace to put the small coil on & using it clean up around the metal after i"d finished the rest of the park.

prodrigsr the gold hit bouncing on iron-tinfoil-5c segments & when i took a inch of bark off it bounced from tinfoil to 5c.

Bill i wish i could retire for the first time :lol:
