ACE250

Hello everyone! I received the ACE 250 as a gift and have a question regarding alkaline/nimh batteries. I want to use rechargeable batteries but have been unable to find in the owner's manual if OK. Can anyone give me some advice? Thank You and Happy New Year! ccj

Any rechargeable work just fine. Go for it! But keep some alkalines handy in case they go dead pretty fast.

The ACE will work on carbon zinc batteries, alkaline batteries, nicads, rechargeable alkalines, NiMH and lithium batteries. Of course length of time will depend on type and ambient operating temperature. Most people who hunt often use rechargeable NiMH batteries. If you don't hunt very often, alkaline batteries work well. Just a little note about the ACE is that once the batteries start showing wear on the screen, it's best to replace them soon. Always carry a spare set with you. Of course you should do this regardless of which metal detector you are using.

Wow! You guys respond fast! Thank you for the information and I will let you guys know when I find the BIG treasure! I live 15 min from beaches and hope to start my search there. Thanks Again, ccj

I use nothing but NiMh rechargeable where I can - now there are 2700 mAh and maybe higher available.
I been using:

Because I was buying in 100 packs like:

Of course there is still inductive reactance, wheatstone bridge, ohm's law etc. But I am lost in the woods on that old stuff. I do remember two blackboards worth of calculations though. And one time it made sense. But not today......
