I just tried adobe photo shop and I like the way it works for reducing pictures. this picture was over 300 kb. and all I did was change the pixel size.and it instantly shows you what the new size is.
 
compared to photoshop or paintshop pro. If I am fixing images, like removing telephone poles from a picture then I turn to Paintshop Pro - Photoshop will also remove unwanted things too).
