Sorry for posting in the x terra forum - I thought some people might be interested in a belt buckle plate I located a few months back. It's a cricketing belt buckle I located near the central Victorian Town of Heathcote, here in Australia. They were apparently very popular during the gold rush years amongst the miners. I can't tell you how old it is exactly, but from info I got from the MCG museum curator,they were made from about 1850 through to 1880. This one was found about 6 inches down with a Minelab Advantage and the 8 inch coil. I'm sure there are many who detect on the Australian fields who have found these things, apparently there were dozens of different designs.
