Advice on Blue Excal Storage

Nutriasub

Member
Due to a huge amount of work, I will not be able to use my blue excals until next year.
Could you guys please give me some advice on how to properly clean, and get rid of the salt and sand after the summer excursions.

Also if there is any spraying or products that I should use to take good care of the machines, I would love to hear about it.

How about the batteries? should I recharge them once in a while, or just let them be?
And the wires? anything to do with them? uncoil them from the shaft? leave it how they are?

Thanks a lot for all your input!

Take it in the shower with you. Let it dry. Take the coil off to let the cable relax. Spray all rubber coated cables with silicone spray. Take the battery off and place it somewhere. I charge mine around January one time. This is what I do to my Excal.

After every hunt I remove the coil cover and wash coil and cover thoroughly. I take the lower shaft out of the upper shaft and use a strong stream of water in the upper shaft to wash out any salt and or sand. After every 10 hunts I take a 12ga shot gun cleaning brush and brush the insides of the upper shaft to clean out anything that does not get washed out with the hose.

Every few months I wipe all the cables down with 303 protectant.
