After sitting out 2 Weeks due to faulty Alternator, I was due to make some finds!:detecting:

This weekend turned out good for finds, even though I would have had more but people started to show up for either practice or a game on Sunday so I lost out on 4 1/2 Hours more of detecting. I tried my luck at previous hunted spots that I have been detecting at and the finds just keep coming out of them. One spot I haven't been to for about 1 1/2 Years started to produce with the results of being LOADED with Old Coins and this is the spot that I had to leave early. I was only there for an hour or so and had found 4 Silver and 4 Wheats, which to some would think that isn't that much for finds in that short of time but it really is if you consider that I was swinging the Stock Coil Slowly with about 4-5 Seconds per Swing. I was only there for 10 minutes and already had a Standing Liberty Quarter, and a Wheat. This spot will have to be revisited by me real soon. I would go into detail but it would make for a long post so I will just go on to the finds. I ended the weekend with 16 Silver (if only I had been able to detect the last spot, I would have had easily 25 or better) and look to get more this next weekend. They were 3 No-Date Standing Liberty Quarters, 1 1943-d Washington Quarter, one of the Toughest Looking Barber Dimes that I have found without a Date, 7 Mercury Dimes dated 1919-s,1925-s,1939-d,1940-d,(2)1941, and 1942-d, and also 4 Roosevelt Dimes dated (2)1946-d,1947-d, and 1964-d. I will also do a close up of the Barber Dime just to show how bad it is. I also found a Buffalo Nickel dated 1919. Along with these Coins, I also found 2 Foreign Coins. One is a 1945 Cinco Centavos (Mexican I Think) Coin and the other is an 1879 2 ORE Coin that is in really great shape for how old it is. I just wish I had found it a few years back then maybe I would have saved it from having any pits in it. I also found another 21 Wheat Pennies dated 1918,1920-s,1926-s,1927-d,1928,1929-d,1930-d,1934,1935,1936-d,(3)1941,1942-d,(2)1945,(2)1945-d,1946-d,1947-d, and 1949-d. I will be posting a couple other finds under this one and I would like for you to see if you can ID the Brass Object I found. Thanks for reading and looking and Good Luck and HH to you all.[attachment 60298 Silver.jpg][attachment 60299 BarberDime.jpg][attachment 60301 BarberDimeBack.jpg][attachment 60302 BuffaloNickel.jpg][attachment 60308 ForeignCoins.jpg][attachment 60311 Wheats.jpg]

Here is the last of the finds. The 1st one here is the item in Question. It is made of Brass and was found at an old Fairgrounds that is no longer there. It looks maybe like a Buckle that a Leather Strap went into, but for What??? Could it have something to do with a Horse Saddle since there was a Horse Track here long ago. There is also some writing on the back that says 1 on the bottom and on the top it says PAT. OCT. 22 '89. The other finds were a 2007 Rabies Tag from Grand Forks, N.D., an Aluminum Bracelet Tag with the name Dolly on it, and an older Dodge Key. I also found a Plastic Toy Badge or Pin that says Junior Fire Marshal on the Aluminum Insert and on the back it says "Made In U.S.A. Pat. Pend. C. Hartford Fire Insurance Co. 1962 A Stoffel Crafted Lapel Emblem" Too bad it is cracked on the back and missing the pin. I also found 2 Rings. 1 Junk Ring with a Red Stone and a Sterling Silver Ring with a Unicorn on it that is quite old. This was about 3' from the 1925-s Mercury Dime. That does it for the finds this time. I hope you enjoyed seeing all my finds and wish you the Best of Luck and HH to you all. Keep the finds comin' fellow Treasure Hunters. :beers:[attachment 60316 BrassItemFront.jpg][attachment 60317 BrassItemBack.jpg][attachment 60314 Misc..jpg][attachment 60319 BadgeFront.jpg][attachment 60320 BadgeBack.jpg][attachment 60318 Rings.jpg]

Maybe go up North to a few different towns that I have books on and see what happens or just try some of these spots that I was at this weekend. Just PM if you want to go sometime. Good Luck and HH to you and your friend when you get out and start detecting for those 3 Days.

I hope to do a repeat next weekend with a little Luck of course. Good Luck and HH. :detecting:

At least you had fun doing your other hobby. There is always next weekend to do some Silver Hunting. Good Luck and HH during the week if you make it out.

will send you a PM, have a question for you.

Great digs James. Let me know if you have experimented or changed any of your settings. I'm still much happier with my settings after your tips a couple of months ago and running conductive sounds. I crank up the gain to 9 or 10 and have been running semi auto 28 on the sensitivity. I also have limits and variability maxed. I have been much happier after doing so and my SE has NO PROBLEM hitting a high coin in the middle of a dead null. If there is a coin within the SE's depth then it will hit right in the middle of an iron null.

might be to lower your Sensitivity Down to 22 Semi-Auto. It will help to get better Target Signals and still get great depth along with faster Target Response. I also use Fast On Deep Off. Lower the Sensitivity when in Trashy Sites. Glad you are happy with some tips I gave you. Good Luck and HH.

of what the Explorer is telling you to be able to rake in Coins like these. Do a little Research and find where people have been long ago and you will make some great finds yourself. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

at a Horse Race or Fair. Love to find interesting things like these. Thanks again. Good Luck and HH.

That place must be a honey hole to find such a nice variety of silver. Way to go buddy........ :)I haven't been out much lately since I found that Husky football ring. I'm still working on trying to get it back to the guy who lost it. I've had two people say to send it to them and they would get it back to the owner. Yeah, right!!! I sent mt XS into Minelab last week. Got a call on Monday that it's almost done and should be shipped back to me today. I noticed a couple of times that I was getting a little moisture under the screen and it was also switching screens and noise cancelling all by itself. The repair guy said he was replacing one of the circuit boards, putting on a new screen and replacing the 1/8 inch headphone jack with a 1/4 inch jack. Said it will be just like brand new.........:) Can't wait to get her back and start detecting again. Again, very nice finds James and I bet you can't wait to get back there and get that 4 1/2 hours in that you missed out on. Best of luck and HH.

Eddie
