order throught dealer that handles Garrett stuff.
Get the real item its worth it and inexpensive.

The "do hickey" is to anchor the headphone wire to the bottom of the arm cuff if you chose to do so!!

I called Garrett today. I was told that my detector is on its way back today. She said that they replaced the internal electronics on the control box as well as one of the coils that I sent in. They also tested it with their calibration equipment.

Looks like it's going to be nice enough to get out this week. I hope the weather stays ok where I'm at. I've found where the fairgrounds were in 1900 here. I'm sure the area has been cleaned out thoroughly, because I've hunted the area a little bit myself already. The place where I hunted might not have been quite the right spot, so I'm hoping they did a superior job in fixing up the detector. That's the spot I'll be hitting when I get it back.

I just got my metal detector back a couple of hours ago. I went out and tested it after reassembling it. Everything is fixed as it should be! The detector is working properly! I went out in my test bed and it detects everything the way it is supposed to. Garrett also sent two free diggers. I'm very happy I sent it in.

That's great, but there is one disappointment (minor). I sen't in the headphone cap (it was screwed onto the control box). It looks like that item was removed during the testing/repair. Where could I get a new headphone cap?

Just call in to Garrett. They sent me a few extras for all my coils just for asking.

Well I'm glad to hear yours is ok now. I did end up sending mine in last week as time was running out so anxiously awaiting it to come back to me. I see that they have the 5x8 coil covers now so in my letter I said i would like to get that and the New Relic book too and would gladly purchase them. I didn't send in those caps with mine but that is good to know if I need some. Let ya all know how mine turns out too when it gets back.
