Air test...:poke:

I tested my S.E.F. 6x8 against my pro coil tonight with a few different coins and I think as far as depth and solid signal that the S.E.F. won by a small margin. Smaller coil more depth?
Can anyone else do this to confirm?

For me, i know different coils give different DEPTH readings yet the same processor is being used in the machine. If that differs, then other factors make a difference from coil to coil as well and how the processor reads them and uses the information. If you remove these differences.... say in air testing then you arent getting the true worth of the coil.

As they have to mix with the matrix of the ground in your neck of the woods..We all seem to forget even though a larger coil covers more area a smaller coil has a more concentated signal and usually the unit can be set up with higher depth pamameters..All in all dial in expertise of the operator, swing speed, type of ground you are hunting in and certainly your post can be a truism. Although I usually prefer the stock coil of the unit I am using have heard some good reports of the coil of which you speak and have seen some awful deep goodies dug by hunting partners over the years using smaller coils...
