Air test US Gold coin

on the chart on the sunray meter for the sovereign the larger the coin the higher the reading. some of the larger gold coins are listed with the zinc and i.h. can't remember for sure but the $20 may have been up ate the 180 range.

The amount of pure gold in a ring or other piece of jewelry is as marked in karats whereas the remaining karats are of another metal usually for effect of the design or appearance used when made. Some gold rings are cut with silver which explains the higher readouts while other metals provided a lower readout due to a lower conductive reaction of that metal. Hope this helps.

I've found that gold runs all over the scale above the mid twenties. I have tried 3 different rings, an 18 k, a 14k and a 10 k. the 10k was the lowest tone. Onus
