All Metals vs Discrimination

vernt

My CZ-21 air detects about 2-3" further in the Discrimination mode compared to the All Metals. Should I send it in for tweaking?

I just had a post on this. Mine does the same thing. But i havent tested air mode. I had my settings at the beach at 10 sense in auto tune and I hit a target but it was very faint and I switched to disc and it came in LOUD and CLEAR. So I was wandering the same thing.

I am not to concerned about it though because I know it is DEEP!!!

Don't forget to turn sens on 10 in all metal, to compare.

For grins run through the SENS settings say by twos (0, 2, 4, 6 etc) and note the range changes. I understand AM is best at 10 unless you have EMI issues where you do the test and you really should find a low EMI place to do the test.

Actually if you run higher than 6 and keep a stable unit you may get a little more depth but again a two faced sword as I feel the unit becomes more prone to be masked by junk at higher setting. As far as autotune not really any deeper and in some cases not as deep but seems to cover more area outside the edges of the coil giving you more coverage. Usually used in analog units as a click of the knob puts you in the disc. position.
One prominent detectorists T.D. advocates around 5 for sens. a analog unit and 4 or 6 sens. if you have a digital unit..for max depth and stable unit...
Personally I run the Sens as high as I can and will even put up with a little noise so whatever works...in your neck of the woods...
