Almost silver.....the results of today's water hunt...

in fact they said they will close two. Jackson was one and I forgot where the other is...but our politicians decided to have a meeting...they decided it should be held in Hawaii. No wonder our economy is messed up with decision makers making these kinds of frivilous journeys at our expense.

I still belong to the club even though I can't make it either...they do have a website so you can keep up with what is being found and all.

Hope things continue to go well for you out there in OK.
Keep coming back here to let us know what you find out that way.

Too many tornados out there for me! :surprised:
Be safe and visit here often! :)

or the flag flaps in my face

BTW what is your feeling about using the diving flag? Should I use the stand by French flag - the white flag of surrender j/k

We had a small t-storm cell form just SW of Tulsa yesterday, and it moved across the northern part of the city, where we live. Laurie called me and said she thought she had just see a small tornado start to move down out of the clouds, but never touched down. She did get a picture of the wall cloud, as she carries a small digi-cam with her in her purse. Here's the pic:

I'm not exactly sure where the wall cloud was in respect to the main part of the storm cell. Sometimes, you'll get a small F0 twister that forms on the front (leading) edge of a storm, instead of towards the back. This "Gustnadoes" are they're called here rarely cause much damage.

Sure enough, just after Laurie came home from running an errand, the chief meteorologist for the NBC affiliate here said that this particular storm cell (the only one over Tulsa) was rotating, but hadn't produced a tornado (no reliable reports from weather spotters and/or cops. When I saw the radar image, the storm cell had a "hook" to it, where the back edge of the storm gets "bent" around the meso-cyclone that produces the wall cloud and tornado.

Now, I've lived here most of my life. You sort of develop a tolerance for "Watches", and only pay attention to "Warnings", and then, only if they're in your area. In my time here, I've see exactly ONE wall cloud, and one POSSIBLE tornado.
